1) That The 1997 - 1998 Ms. Wheelchair Florida Pageant, was held Saturday, Sept. 27, 1997, at the Wyndam Hotel, in Dania, FL. Lynn Naves from St. Petersburg, FL was crowned Ms. Wheelchair FL 1997- 1998. The 1999 Ms. Wheelchair FL Pageant will be held July 18 - 20, 1998 at the same location.

2) That Shake-A-Leg, Miami, now offers free sailing for people with disabilities, thanks to a grant received from Health Foundation of Florida. Included are demonstration sails, basic sail classes, advanced sail classes, and even year long memberships to our Watersports Club at no charge to people with physical disabilities. 3) That Reach Out Magazine, is now on-line, on the Internet. It's an interactive web site that features the magazine, & web personal ads, message boards, web chat, a members email list and more. 4) That The National Organization On Disability has several exciting announcements. First, "President signs law authorizing addition of FDR in a Wheelchair to new memorial." The National Organization on Disability (N.O.D.) for the last three years, has led the national effort to include a depiction of FDR's disability in the Memorial. The legislation requires that the addition to the memorial be funded by the private sector, at no expense to the government. You can help by making a donation.
