CINGULAR WIRELESS NAMED AMONG TOP 10 COMPANIES FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES

DiversityInc. Magazine Unveils the 2006 DiversityInc Top 50 Companies for Diversity

Atlanta-based Cingular Wireless is ranked among the top 10 U.S. companies for people with disabilities on The 2006 DiversityInc Top 50 Companies for Diversity:  The Specialty Lists.  The magazine annually recognizes businesses with a commitment to diversity as indicated by factors such as employee recruitment and retention, and regular and consistent diversity training and communications programs.

“We are pleased to be leaders in this effort among U.S. companies,” says Bob Reed, Cingular vice president for diversity and inclusion.  “Our entire management team considers diversity a business imperative, and our commitment to diversity –besides being the right thing to do-- adds value to our company and our communities.”

Cingular is named the number one company for Latinos on the 2006 DiversityInc. Top 50.  The company is cited for its recognizable commitments to executive women, and to gay/lesbian/bi-sexual/transsexuals (GLBT) employees on The Specialty Lists. The company made the Top 50 list in 2005 in the 43rd place but moved up this year to number 15.
