Olhausen Billiard Manufacturing, Inc. ("Olhausen(") and the National Wheelchair PoolPlayers Association ("N.W.P.A.") announced the 2003 International Tournament of Wheelchair Champions event, September 23rd - 27th, to be held at Planet 9-Ball in Tampa, Florida.  The Championship Finals will be aired on ESPN in late Fall, 2003.  All play will be on Olhausen's Champion Pro professional table featuring Accu-Fast cushions and Italian slate from Paolo Arata.  Olhausen is proud to be the Official Table Sponsor for this event.
Thirty-two wheelchair pool players from around the world are invited to participate in this prestigious five-day event.  The format will be a Race-to-7 double-elimination tournament with the final two wheelchair pool players going on to be paired with two professional men players. N.W.P.A. players will earn the right to participate in the scotch doubles based on their finish in the double-elimination tournament being held on Tuesday, September 23rd, through Friday, September 26th, time: 11:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. daily. ESPN will tape the final scotch doubles event on Saturday, September 27th, seating at 4:00 P.M.
Master Tournament Director, Steve Tipton, will officiate with announcers Mitch and Ewa Mataya Laurance in the announcers' booth for ESPN.
The N.W.P.A. has over 400 members.  It is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the promotion of wheelchair pool, improving the lives of its members and generating public awareness of wheelchair billiards around the world.  Olhausen supports this association and will help make this a successful event.
A raffle will be held at Planet 9-Ball on the evening of the finals.  Olhausen has donated a 9-foot Champion Pro pool table, the proceeds of which will benefit the N.W.P.A.
