September is CMT Awareness Month.

The Hereditary Neuropathy Foundation is working to raise awareness for Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT), the number one inherited neuropathy in the US by promoting September as CMT Awareness Month. HNF is distributing posters, submitting articles and public service announcements to newspapers and other media outlets, and linking Web sites. For information, please visit:
www.hereditaryneuropathy.org

Editors Note: Reach Out Congratulates The Hereditary Foundation on it's effort to raise awareness of this very serious cause. Reach Out acknowledges that the month of September is almost over, but urges everyone to never stop promoting CMT. CMT is a lifelong condition, not just something that affects us during September. I personally know the effect of CMT. I also know the important of awareness as I was misdiagnosed several times and well as given a wrong prognosis. I urge everyone to get involved in this great cause. We need to make people (including Doctors) aware of CMT so that everyone receives proper diagnosis and treatment. Not to mention the potential for a cure.
