To me one of the greatest gifts to have is the
power of positive thinking. Over the years I went through periods of disappointments,
rejections and depression because of my struggles with my hearing, visual
and physical impairments. I soon learned the key to surviving any thing
that comes my way is positive thinking. Such as during my college years
trying to figure out what my career focus was going to be. After a stint
in education I majored in social work. But after graduating I soon learned
the difficulties of finding the job. I went through many interviews and
received many rejections. I finally settled into a part time job while
I did some positive soul searching which led me to start to write about
my personal experiences with encouragement from my family and friends I
contacted several editors who published my work on the World Wide Web and
my local new paper. I soon I found my true calling as a columnist All it
took was patience's and positive thinking. Over the years I have learned
three very important parts to positive thinking. I call them the three
câs commitment, control and challenges. The first is to make a positive
commitment to your life and dreams. After many different experiences I
found a way to make my dream come true through my writing career. The second
one is controlling your destiny focusing on your goals. The last part is
donât be afraid of taking on new challenges that's what keeps life
interesting and exciting. Every day can be a new beginning and yesterdays
can be a stepping stone to tomorrow.
