A shared culture: is it really us (the disabled) against them?
When the mind is narrow; the door lies closed In the head of a bigot; in a militant racist newly begun
When the person is shallow; body posed
There's a place for everyone under the sun, Deep as it may be.
What the U.S. has given me is a variety of people to see
A cult of personality
A perspective on cultural relativity
So that I can respect other's ancestryFrom infancy, in New Jersey, to presently, at Nova University.
People possess cultural superiority... In what we drive, what we wear, what time to arrive, what style of hair.
What we eat, what type of dance, who we meet, who we romance... In the way we speak.
The religion we choose - We are unique with values we use.
The education we obtain, our occupational roles.
It's difficult to explain.
Our individualistic goals
Gender roles combining androgynous traits
In family interaction child rearing being a constant debateCulture has influence on emotional expression Examples of this will be listed in the following lesson Beginning with "a" and ending with "z" are shared feelings existing universally
These are shared feelings of:
These universal feelings of surprise, anger, disgust, and despair. Prove that a smile and a scowl is understood everywhere. From these feelings we learn to associate Emotions with which we communicate. Not in all cultures same opinions generate
The French eat snails and think this delicacy's great ....while some Americans disagree; even the thought of it... we do hate
Traveling adds to our culture in the U.S. By visiting the Graceland of Elvis
Or the strip out in Vegas
To the land of Walt Disney
To the White House in D.C.
Down the river of Mississippi
To Florida's KeyMagazines like Cosmo and Harper's Bazaar insist on crash diets for getting the stick-like figure of a famous super star.
Finding the perfect house and perfect spouse Are part of the american dream. We're too materialistic now, doesn't it seem? People have no time and are always on the run. Whatever happened to stopping and smelling the roses just for fun? Technology also adds to our culture at hand A good example being cd's from our favorite band...
I decided to write about the U.S. And some issues Americans face. However, there's only one culture which exists... That being, the entire human race.
When the mind is narrow; the door lies closed In the head of a bigot; in a militant racist newly begun
When the person's shallow; body posed
There' s a place for everyone under the sun!
